Neoadjuvant durvalumab plus chemotherapy followed by adjuvant durvalumab in resectable NSCLC: surgical outcomes of AEGEAN
Prof. Tetsuya Mitsudomi
In the multinational randomized AEGEAN trial, patients with resectable stage II to IIIB NSCLC received neoadjuvant chemotherapy with durvalumab or placebo, followed by surgery and adjuvant durvalumab or placebo. The event-free survival was significantly improved in the durvalumab group versus the placebo group. Surgical outcomes of the trial have now been published. The addition of durvalumab to neoadjuvant chemotherapy had no detrimental effect on the feasibility, approach, type, or timing of surgery, and was associated with a tolerable surgical safety profile.
