The value of perioperative systemic therapy in conjunction is cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in patients with colorectal cancer peritoneal metastases (CRCPM) is not clear. A global retrospective study found that after propensity score matching of CRCPM patients undergoing CRS plus HIPEC, neoadjuvant therapy was not associated with better overall survival, while adjuvant therapy was associated with better overall survival. Likewise, neoadjuvant systemic therapy was not associated with better recurrence-free survival, while adjuvant systemic therapy was associated with better recurrence-free survival.
