Multinational retrospective cohort study of cabozantinib for brain metastases of renal cell carcinoma

Patients with brain metastases from renal cell carcinoma have been underrepresented in clinical trials, and effective systemic therapy is lacking. Cabozantinib has robust clinical activity in metastatic RCC, but its effect on brain metastases is unclear. A retrospective cohort study at 15 institutes in 4 countries found that cabozantinib monotherapy in patients with RCC and BMs had considerable intracranial activity and an acceptable safety profile.
