Multinational phase 3 trial of oral selinexor maintenance after first-line chemotherapy for advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer
Prof. Ignace Vergote
Selinexor inhibits exportin-1, resulting in nuclear accumulation of tumor suppression proteins including p53. The multinational phase 3 SIENDO trial evaluated oral selinexor versus placebo maintenance in patients with advanced or first recurrent endometrial cancer and partial or complete response to first-line taxane-platinum combination chemotherapy. Oral selinexor maintenance was associated with improved progression-free survival, particularly among patients with TP53
wild-type disease (median PFS 13.7 months, versus 3.7 months with placebo).
