Multinational phase 3 trial of neoadjuvant durvalumab plus chemotherapy followed by adjuvant durvalumab for resectable NSCLC

The multinational phase 3 AEGEAN trial compared neoadjuvant durvalumab plus chemotherapy followed by resection and adjuvant durvalumab (D group) versus neoadjuvant placebo plus chemotherapy followed by resection and adjuvant placebo (PBO group). The pCR rate was 17.2% n the D group versus 4.3% in the PBO group (p=0.00036) and the EFS was not reached in the D group versus 25.9 months in the PBO group (HR 0.68; p=0.003902). Perioperative durvalumab plus neoadjuvant chemotherapy was associated with a manageable safety profile.
