The multinational phase 3 SUNMO trial randomized transplant-ineligible patients with relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma to mosunetuzumab plus polatuzumab vedotin (Mosun-Pola) or rituximab-gemcitabine-oxaliplatin (R-GemOx). The overall response rate was 70% with Mosun-Pola versus 40% with R-GemOx (p<0.0001) with complete response in 51% and 24%, respectively. The median progression-free survival was 11.5 months with Mosun-Pola versus 3.8 months with R-GemOx (HR 0,41; p<0.0001). Patient-reported outcomes were improved with Mosun-Pola compared with R-GemOx. The authors conclude that Mosun-Pola demonstrated superior efficacy versus R-GemOx, with a manageable safety profile.
