The multinational phase 3 FLAURA2 trial randomized patients with previously untreated EFGR-mutated advanced NSCLC 1:1 to osimertinib plus platinum-pemetrexed chemotherapy or osimertinib monotherapy. Overall survival results of the trial have now been published. Median overall survival was 47.5 months with osimertinib plus chemotherapy versus 37.6 months with osimertinib monotherapy (HR 0.77; p=0.02). Grade 3 or higher adverse events were reported in 70% of patients with osimertinib plus chemotherapy and in 34% of patients in the osimertinib monotherapy group; adverse events leading to discontinuation of osimertinib were reported in 12% and 7%, respectively.
