Multinational phase 2 trial of metronomic antiangiogenic regimen for recurrent medulloblastoma

Medulloblastoma recurrence in patients who have previously received irradiation has a dismal prognosis and lacks a standard salvage regimen. The phase 2 Medulloblastoma European Multitarget Metronomic Anti-Angiogenic Trial (MEMMAT) evaluated a metronomic antiangiogenic combinatorial regimen in pediatric patients with recurrent or refractory medulloblastoma. The MEMMAT regimen resulted in complete response in 15% of patients, partial response in 30%, and stable disease in 12.5% . This figure shows progression-free and overall survival. The authors conclude that the use of an antiangiogenic metronomic combinatorial regimen warrants further investigation.
