Multinational phase 2 study of first-line nivolumab plus low-dose ipilimumab for MSI-H/dMMR mCRC

Based on results of the multinational phase 2 study CheckMate 142, nivolumab received FDA approval as a single agent or in combination with ipilimumab for previously treated microsatellite instability-high/mismatch repair-deficient (MSI-H/dMMR) metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Results of the first-line treatment cohort of CheckMate 142 have now been published. Nivolumab plus low-dose ipilimumab had robust and durable clinical activity and was well tolerated as a first-line treatment for MSI-H/dMMR mCRC. The authors conclude that based on these promising results, randomized studies are warranted.
