Dendrimer-nanoparticle delivery platform (DEP)-SN38 is a polylysine-based nanoparticle conjugate of the irinotecan active metabolite, SN38. A study in the United Kingdom and Australia evaluated DP-SN38 as monotherapy or combined with fluorouracil/leucovorin among heavily pretreated patients with advanced solid tumors. Most DEP-SN38-attributed treatment-related adverse events were mild or moderate. Efficacy signals were observed across several tumor types, particularly platinum-resistant ovarian cancer and colorectal cancer. The authors conclude that DEP-SN38 was clinically well tolerated, with potential clinical utility among patients with advanced solid tumors.
