The PACIFIC trial established chemoradiation followed by 1-year durvalumab consolidation as standard of care for unresectable locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer. A retrospective study at 23 centers in Italy found that in the real world median progression-free survival and median overall survival were 9.3 months (95% CI 7,1-11,4) and 24.2 months (18.7-29.7), respectively. After progression on this therapy the predominant next real-world treatment was platinum-based chemotherapy (43% of patients) whereas chemo-immunotherapy rechallenge (21%) was associated with the best survival outcomes.
