Multicenter retrospective study of focal radiotherapy versus whole-brain radiotherapy for primary CNS lymphoma
Dr. SIna Heider
A retrospective study at 8 centers in Germany compared focal radiotherapy (fRT) versus whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) among patients with primary CNS lymphoma at any stage of their disease. fRT was associated with better overall survival, both from diagnosis as well from completion of radiotherapy. Among patients with recurrent disease, median progression-free survival was not significantly longer after fRT compared with WBRT. The authors conclude that fRT may be a beneficial treatment option for patients with PCNSL.
