According to international guidelines, bladder-sparing trimodal therapy (TMT) is an alternative to radical cystectomy (RC) for patients with non-metastatic clinically node-positive bladder cancer (cN+ M0 BCa). However, there are limited data to guide management. A multicenter retrospective analysis in the UK investigated survival outcomes of patients with cN+ M0 BCa. Receiving radical treatments was associated with improved overall survival compared with palliative treatment. There were no OS differences between the groups receiving surgery versus radical radiotherapy. The authors conclude that this study confirms that bladder-sparing TMT treatment should be a treatment option available to all patients with cN+ M0 BCa.
