Multicenter randomized phase 2 trial of first-line treatments for metastatic pancreatic cancer

The French multicenter randomized PANOPTIMOX-PRODIGE 35 phase 2 trial found that in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer controlled after 4 months first-line FOLFIRINOX, maintenance with leucovorin-fluorouracil was feasible and effective. The median survival without deterioriation in quality-of-life scores was 11.4 months with this strategy, compared with 7.2 months with FOLFIRINOX.
