Multicenter prospective controlled trial of allogeneic transplantation in advanced cutaneous T-cell lymphomas
Prof. Adèle de Masson
Advanced-stage cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCLs) are usually refractory and fatal diseases. The multicenter prospective CUTALLO trial at 17 centers in France found that among patients with advanced CTCLs in partial or complete remission, who had an available compatible related donor, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation was associated with significanty prolonged progression-free survival (9.0 versus 3.0 months; HR 0.38; p<0.0001). The authors conclude that allogeneic HSCT treatment should be made available to patients with high-risk, advanced-stage mycosis fungoides or Sézary syndrome who achieve pre-transplant disease remission.
