Multicenter phase 3 trial of pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy for advanced endometrial cancer

Standard first-line chemotherapy for endometrial cancer is carboplatin plus paclitaxel (CP). A multicenter phase 3 trial in the United States and Canada evaluated addition of pembrolizumab to PC for advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer. (A/R EC) Patients with A/R EC were randomized to pembrolizumab plus CP or placebo plus CP. In the dMMR cohort, the 12-months PFS was 74% in the pembrolizumab group and 38% in the placebo group (HR 0.30; p<0.001). In the pMMR cohort, median PFS was 13.1 months with pembrolizumab and 8.7 months with placebo (HR 0.54; p<0.001). Adverse events were as expected.xtagstartz/p>
