Multicenter phase 3 trial of fuzuloparib maintenance therapy for platinum-sensitive, recurrent ovarian carcinoma
Prof. Yingling Wu
Fuzuloparib is a novel, potent, and orally available PARP inhibitor, with encouraging antitumor activity in patients with germline BRCA1/2
mutations and platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer, who had undergone second-line or later-line chemotherapy regimens. The multicenter phase 3 FZOCUS-2 trial in China evaluated fuzuloparib as maitenance therapy for platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer after response to second-line or later-line platinum-based chemotherapy. The study found that fuzuloparib maintenance, as compared to placebo, achieved a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in progression-free survival, regardless of germline BRCA1/2 mutations, with a manageable safety profile.
