Multicenter phase 3 study of second-line FOLFOX for advanced biliary tract cancer

The multicenter phase 3 ABC-06 study in the UK evaluated FOLFOX as second-line therapy for advanced biliary tract cancer after progression on cisplatin-gemcitabine. Addition of FOLFOX to active symptom control resulted in clinically meaningful improvement of overall survival. The improvement was seen in all subgroups. The authors conclude that FOLFOX should become standard-of-care chemotherapy in second-line treatment for advanced biliary tract cancer.
