Multicenter phase 3 study of avelumab versus observation after standard treatment for high-risk triple-negative early breast cancer

The multicenter phase 3 A-BRAVE trial in Italy randomized patients with TNBC at high risk of relapse who completed standard treatment with surgery and (neo)adjuvant chemotherapy, to one year of adjuvant avelumab or observation. Avelumab did not improve disease-free survival (primary endpoint), but a descriptive analysis suggested a potential favorable impact of avelumab
on overall survival and distant disease-free survival.
