Multicenter phase 2 trial of sintilimab plus bevacizumab for relapsed or persistent ovarian clear cell carcinoma

Ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) rarely responds to second-line chemotherapy, the recommended treatment for relapsed epithelial ovarian cancer. The phase 2 INOVA trial, at eight academic centers in China, evaluated the combination of sintilimab and bevacizumab for relapsed or persistent OCCC. Among 37 response-evaluable patients, objective responses were seen in 15 patients (ORR 40.5%; 95% CI 24.8-57.9) and complete responses were seen in 5 patients (14%). Grade 3 treatment-related adverse events were seen in 7% of patients, and there were no grade 4 or 5 TRAEs. The authors conclude that the combination of sintilimab and bevacizumab had promising antitumor activity and manageable safety in patients with relapsed or persistent OCCC.
