Multicenter phase 2 trial of sintilimab plus anlotininib for PD-L1-positive recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer

Patients with recurrent or metastatic (R/M) cervical cancer have a poor prognosis, with 17% overall survival at five years with platinum-based chemotherapy plus antiangiogenic therapy. A multicenter phase 2 trial in China evaluated the combination of the anti-PD-1 antibody sintilimab and the antiangiogenic TKI anlotinib in patients with PD-L1 positive (combined positive score 1 or higher) R/M cervical cancer who progressed after at least one prior systemic chemotherapeutic regimen or who could not tolerate chemotherapy. The study found that sintilimab plus anlotinib was efficacious and safe. The authors conclude that sintilimab plus anlotinib could provide a promising option for these patients.
