Multicenter phase 2 trial of neoadjuvant chidamide plus chemotherapy for HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer
Prof. Caigang Liu
Chidamide, aka tucidinostat, is an oral histone deacetylase inhibitor. The phase 2 MUKDEN 05 trial, at three centers in China, evaluated neoadjuvant chidamide in combination with chemotherapy for HR-positive/HER2-negative breast cancer. The primary endpoint was rate of residual cancer burden 0-1. The RCB 0-1 rate was 35.2% (95% CI 22.7-49.4), with activity seen in most subgroups. The authors conclude that the combination of chidamide and chemotherapy has the potential to be an alternative neoadjuvant therapy option for patients with HR+/HER2- breast cancer.
