Multicenter phase 2 trial of first-line chemotherapy with or without nivolumab for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer

The multicenter randomized phase 2 ECOG-ACRIN EA5161 trial evaluated addition of nivolumab to first-line platinum-based chemotherapy plus etoposide for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. Addition of nivolumab was associated with improved progression-free survival and overall survival. There were no new safety signals.
