Multicenter phase 2 trial of anlotinib as maintenance treatment for advanced soft tissue sarcoma after first-line chemotherapy
There is no standard maintenance treatment to prolong the response duration of advanced soft tissue sarcoma (aSTS) after first-line chemotherapy. The multicenter phase 2 ALTER-S006 trial in China evaluted anlotinib maintenance for aSTS after response or stable disease to first-line anthracycline-based chemotherapy. Stable disease or better was seen in 94% of patients, with encouraging progression-free and overall survival. Most treatment-related adverse events wer grade 1 and 2. The authors conclude that postchemotherapy maintenance treatment with anlotinib exhibits promising efficacy and tolerability among patients with aSTS.
