Delta-like ligand 4 (DLL 4) has a critical role in angiogenesis and is associated with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) resistance. Navicixizumab is a DLL4 and VEGF bispecific antibody. A multicenter phase 1b study evaluated the combination of navicixizumab and paclitaxel for heavily pretreated, platinum resistant ovarian cancer. The combination therapy resulted in response in 43% of patients. The benefit was seen regardless of prior treatment including bevacizumab or PARP inhibitor. Response was enriched in patients with high angiogenesis score. Safety was manageable.
