Multicenter phase 1 dose-escalation study of bexmarilimab plus azaticidine for high-risk MDS and relapsed or refractory AML

Bexmarilimab is a novel humanized antibody blocking Clever-1, which is expressed on myeloid leukemia cells. A phase 1-2 trial in Finland and the USA evaluates the combination of bexmarilimab plus azacitidine for high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome and relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia. The dose-escalation part of the study found that the combination has a manageable safety profile and promising activity (ORR 45%; 95% CI 28-62).
