Multicenter noninferiority trial of sentinel-lymph-node biopsy alone versus lymphadenectomy in cervical cancer
Limited data are available on survival outcomes after sentinel-lymph-node biopsy (SLNB) alone as compared with lymphadenectomy in cervical cancer. The phase 3 noninferiority PHENIX trial, at 11 centers in China, compared outcomes after SLNB alone versus with pelvic lymphadenectomy among patients with stage IA1-IIA1 cervical cancer. The study found that SLNB alone was noninferior to lymphadenectomy with respect to disease-free survival and was associated with fewer complications (quick take video abstract).
