Patients with cancer have an increased risk of complications from SARS-CoV-2 infection. Vaccination to prevent COVID-19 is recommended, but data on the immunogenicity and safety of the vaccines for patients receiving systemic cancer treatment are scarce. The multicenter VOICE study in The Netherlands found that the mRNA-1273 COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna) was effective and safe in patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or chemoimmunotherapy for solid tumors. The antibody response in these patients was non-inferior compared to the response in healthy controls.
