Long-term risk of cardiovascular disease mortality among classic Hodgkin lymphoma survivors
The temporal trend of cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality in patients with classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) throughout follow-up is unclear. A multicenter retrospective study included patients with cHL diagnosed between 1983 and 2015, covering all ages. Among patients with stage I and stage II cHL, the proportional mortality ratio for CVD exceeded that for cHL, after approximately 60 and 120 months of follow-up, respectively. In recent decades, the risk of cHL mortality declined sharply, while the risk of CVD mortality declined slowly or even remained unchanged among some populations. The authors conclude that more effective measures should be taken to reduce the risk of CVD mortality among survivors of early-stage cHL.
