Long-term outcomes with nivolumab plus ipilimumab or nivolumab alone versus ipilimumab for advanced melanoma

Long-term survival of patients with advanced melanoma treated with nivolumab plus ipilimumab and with nivolumab alone versus ipilimumab has been demonstrated after five-year follow-up in the multinational phase 3 CheckMate 067 trial. The extent of the durability of this benefit is of interest. The 6.5-year CheckMate 067 results, which include the longest median OS in a phase III melanoma trial reported to date, showed durable, improved clinical outcomes with nivolumab plus ipilimumab or nivolumab alone versus ipilimumab in patients with advanced melanoma, and, in descriptive analyses, with the combination over nivolumab monotherapy.
