Long-term outcomes with cilta-cel for heavily pretreated relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma in CARTITUDE-1

The multicenter phase 1b-2 CARTITUDE-1 trial evaluated ciltacabtagene autoleucel (cilta-cel) for heavily pretreated relapsed or refactory multiple myeloma (RRMM). Long-term follow-upof the study found that 5 years after a single cilta-cel infusion, 33% of patients were alive and progression-free, with MRD-negativity (at least 10^-5 threshold) in 100% of tested patients. The authors conclude that these data provide the first evidence that cilta-cel is potentially curative in RRMM.
