Long-term follow-up of multicenter phase 2 trial of transoral surgery and risk-based adjuvant treatment in HPV-associated oropharynx cancer
Prof. Barbara Burtness
The multicenter phase 2 E3311 trial evaluated transoral surgery followed by risk-adapted adjuvant treatment in patients with HPV-associated oropharynx cancer (OPC). Long-term follow-up of the trial found outstanding 54-month rates for progression-free survival and overall survival. 54-month overall survival rates were higher than 90% in all four arms with risk adapted adjuvant treatment, ranging from observation to cisplatin plus 60-66 Gy radiation.
