Ixazomib-rituximab-dexamethasone for relapsed or refractory Waldenström’ macroglobulinemia
Prof. Marie José Kersten
Proteasome inhibitors are effective in Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM) but require parenteral administration and are associated with polyneuropathy. The multinational HOVON124/ECWM-R2 study evaluated the the less neurotoxic oral proteasome inhibitor ixazomib combined with subcutaneous rituximab and oral dexamethasone for relapsed or refractory WM. The combination had promising efficacy
with manageable toxicity in patients with R/R WM.
