Interim analysis of ICE3 trial of cryoablation without excision for low-risk early-stage breast cancer
Dr. Richard Fine
The multicenter prospective ICE3 trial evaluates safety and efficacy of breast cryoablation for low-risk early-stage HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. Interim analysis at three years after the procedure found low ipsilateral breast tumor recurrence (4 of 194 patients; 2.06%). Device-related adverse events were reported as mild in 18.4% and moderate in 2.4% of the patients. More than 95% of the patients and 98% of the physicians reported satisfaction with the cosmetic results.
