Impact of postoperative chemotherapy on outcomes of adjuvant osimertinib for EGFR-mutated NSCLC
Prof. Yi-Long Wu
Adjuvant chemotherapy is recommended in patients with resected stage II-IIIA NSCLC; however, recurrence rates are high. Last year the phase III ADAURA study was published, showing that adjuvant osimertinib compared with placebo resulted in improvement of disease-free survival in patients with resected stage IB-IIIA EGFR-mutated NSCLC. New analyses from the study show that the DFS benefit with osimertinib versus placebo was seen in patients who had received adjuvant chemotherapy (HR 0.16; 95% CI 0.10-0.26) and in patients who had not received adjuvant chemotherapy (HR 0.23; 95% CI 0.13-0.40).
