Impact of body composition factors on outcomes with first-line immune checkpoint inhibitors for metastatic renal cell carcinoma
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized ther treatment of metastic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC); however, validating body composition-related biomarkers for their efficacy remains incomplete. A retrospective study at Dokkyo University (Shimotsuga, Japan) evaluated th association of body composition-related markers and outcomes of mRCC patients receiving first-line ICI therapy. Sarcopenia (A,B) but not body mass index (C,D) or total fat index (E,F)
was associated with signficantly worse progression-free and overall survival.
