The randomized phase 2 trial LACOG0415 in Brazil and Argentina randomized patients with advanced castration-sensitive prostate cancer (aCSPC) to 3 groups: ADT plus abiraterone acetate and prednisone (AAP), apalutamide (APA) alone, or APA plus AAP. A prespecified health-related quality of life HRQOL) analysis of the trial has now been published. There were no statistically significant HRQOL differences between the groups, except in time to deterioration of the emotional well-being score, which was more favorable in the APA alone group than in the ADT plus APA group. The HRQOL remained stable in all 3 groups during treatment, without meaningful improvements in HRQOL in the APA alone and AAP plus APA groups compared with the ADT plus AAP group (visual abstract).
