The Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study 2019 Cancer Collaboration analyzed global incidence, mortality, years of life lost, years lived with disability, and disability-adjusted life years in 2019 and over the past decade. In 2019 there were 23.6 million new global cancer cases (17.2 million when excluding nonmelanoma skin cancer), 10.0 million cancer deahes, and an estimated 250 million DALYs due to cancer; since 2010, these represent increases of 26.3%, 20.9%, and 16.0%, respectively. Absolute cancer burden increased in all Sociodemographic Index quintiles since 2010, with the largest percentage increases in the low and low-middle SDI quintiles.
