Four-year outcomes of CheckMate 227: first-line nivolumab plus ipilimumab for advanced NSCLC
Prof. Luis Paz-Ares
The multinational phase 3 study CheckMate 227 randomized adult patients with previously untreated advanced NSCLC to nivolumab-ipilimumab, nivolumab alone, or chemotherapy (PD-L1 ≥ 1%) or nivolumab-ipilimumab, nivolumab-chemotherapy, or chemotherapy alone (PD-L1 < 1%). Long-term follow-up of the study, with all patients off immunotherapy for at least two years, showed that patients in the nivolumab plus ipilimumab group had significantly better overall survival than patients in the chemotherapy group. No new safety signals were identified.
