Fixed –ratio combination versus sequential infusion of nivolumab and ipilimumab for advanced melanoma or renal cell carcinoma
Dr. Alexander Menzies
Immune checkpoint inibitors can be coadministered as a fixed-ration combination (FRC) or administered as sequential infusions (ASI). The phase 3b study CheckMate 742 and the phase 2 study CheckMate 800 compared FRC and ASI of nivolumab and ipilimumab among patients with advanced melanoma or renal cell carcinoma, respectively. In both studies, there were no clinically relevent differences in safety between FCR and ASI (primary endpoint). Efficacy endpoints were secondary/exploratory and should be interpreted with caution.
