The phase 3 JIPANG trial, at 50 centers in Japan, compared adjuvant pemetrexed-cisplatin (PemP) versus vinorelbine-cisplatin (NP) after resection of stage II-IIIA nonsquamous non-small-cell lung cancer, and found similar recurrence-free survival, while PemP had a better tolerability. Long-term follow-up of the study has now been published. Five years after the last patient enrollment RFS and OS did not differ significantly between the two groups (OS rates 75.6% with NP versus 75.0% with PemP at five years).
