Five-year follow-up of the ECLIPSE study of cryoablation for metastatic lung tumors
Prof. Thierry De Baère
The ECLIPSE study evaluated cryoablation for metastatic lung tumors fro extrapulmonary cancers. The most common primary cancers werd colon (40%), kidney (23%), and sarcomas (8%). Five-year follow-up of the study found that cryoablation was effective, resulted in long-term local tumor control in 79.2% of the tumors and 75.0% of the patients, while worsening of quality of life scores did not reach statistical significance.
