First-line cemiplimab followed by continued cemiplimab plus chemotherapy at progression for aNSCLC: 35-month follow-up
Prof. Mustafa Özgüroğlu
The multinational phase 3 EMPOWER-Lung 1 trial evaluated first-line cemiplimab (anti-PD-1) versus chemotherapy of investigator’s choice for patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer with at least 50% PD-L expression. At 35 months follow-up, progression-free survival and overall survival continued to be better with cemiplimab compared with chemotherapy. There were no new safety signals. At progression, adding chemotherapy to continued cemiplimab might provide a new second-line option for this patient population.
