First-line camizestrant for emerging ESR1-mutated advanced breast cancer
Prof. François-Clément Bidard
The multinational randomized SERENA-6 trial found that among patients with ER+ HER2- aBC and an emerging ESR1 mutation during first-line aromatase inhibitor plus CDK4/6 inhibitor, switching to camizestrant with continuation of the CDK4/6-inhibitor was associated with significantly longer PFS compared with continuation of aromatase inhibitor plus CDK4/6-inhibitor. Also the time to deterioration of the patient-reported global health status and quality of life was longer with camizestrant. The frequency of discontinuation of camizestrant because of adverse events was 1.3%.
