A cross-sectional study based on population growth projections and current population-based cancer incidence and death rates calculated the changes in cancer incidences and deaths to the year 2040. The estimates included increases in melanoma incidence to 219 000 cases, pancreatic cancer deaths (46 000), and liver cancer deaths (41 000), and decreases in prostate cancer incidence (66 000) and breast cancer deaths (30 000).
