Early intervention in myelofibrosis and impact on outcomes: pooled analysis of COMFORT-I and COMFORT-II studies
Dr. Srdan Verstovsek
Pooled analysis of the phase 3 COMFORT-I and COMFORT-II studies showed that among adult patients with intermediate-2 or high-risk myelofibrosis who received ruxolitinib at randomization or after crossover from placebo (PBO) or best available therapy (BAT) had improved overall survival (OS). A post hoc analysis of pooled COMFORT data examined disease outcomes based on disease duration (≤ 12 months of > 12 months from diagnosis) before ruxolitinib initiation. Earlier ruxolitinib initiation was associated with improved clinical outcomes, including fewer cytopenia events, durable spleen volume responses, and longer overall survival.
