Dr. Daniel Becker
A retrospective study in New York University Langone Medical Center found that among patients hospitalized for COVID-19, those with active cancer were more likely to die from COVID-19 (34.4% versus 20.0% of patients without cancer history; p<0.01). Those with hematologic malignancies were at highest risk of death (47.83% versus 28.66% of patients with other cancer types; p<0.01). Patients receiving cancer-directed therapy within 3 months before hospitalization had no overall increased of death.
