Cohort study of tucatinib plus trastuzumab and capecitabine after trastuzumab-deruxtecan for HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer
Dr. Jean-Sébastien Frenel
Little is known regarding the outcomes of tucatinib combined with trastuzumab and capecitabine (TTC) in patient with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer (mBC) who were previously treated with trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd). A retrospective cohort study at 12 centers in France included 101 such patients. TTC provided a clinically significant tumor response. The median progression-free survival was 4.7 months; the median time to next treatment was 5.2 months; and the median overall survival was 13.4 months. The authors conclude that TTC therapy was associated with clinically meaningful outcomes in HER2-positive mBC patients after T-DXd exposure.
