CelTIL score as surrogate for survival in early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer
Prof. Sherene Loi
In early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer, biomarkers are needed that guide escalation and/or de-escalation of systemic therapy. CelTIL score is a novel biomarker based on stromal tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and tumor cellularity. The score is determined at day 15 of anti-HER2 therapy. Among patients in the NeoALTTO phase 3 trial, CelTIL-high versus CelTIL-low score was associated with 5-year EFS of 76.4% versus 59.7% (HR 0.40; 95%-bti 0.17-0.94) and 5-year OS of 86.4% versus 73.5% (HR 0.43; 95%-bti 0.20-0.92).
