CASSIOPEIA part 2: daratumumab maintenance versus observation after (D)VTd and ASCT for NDMM
Prof. Philippe Moreau
The multinational phase 3 CASSIOPEIA study (111 European centers) randomized patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma to DVTd or VTd as induction and consolidation before and after autologous stem-cell transplantation. In 2019 Part 1 of the study was published, showing that the depth of response and progression-free survival were better with DVTd than with VTd only. Part 2 compared daratumumab maintenance versus observation. Part 2 showed that daratumumab maintenance every 8 weeks for 2 years significantly reduced the risk of disease progression or death compared with observation only.
